"Circle of Friends" Meopham 04th July 2010
On Sunday 4th July we were asked by the scouts to attend their "Circle of Friends" function at Meopham, the day was arrange for special needs people to have a day out, there were different events such as wall climbing, archery, go karts, stalls and a lot more.

Some of the 79th went on the Saturday afternoon to set up camp and the rest of
us arrived on Sunday morning, the day started off with us doing drill as there
were a few new comers to the group who needed to learn the ropes, our piper lead us around
playing for a while our corporal was giving orders and going over with the new lads
what is needed from them.
In the afternoon we did a firing display where the 4 firers competed who could
get the more rounds fired in a Minute but as always with the musket this proved
difficult as the muskets are unpredictable.
After the display was finished we had no more official duties , expect for
answering questions etc and of course having fun! So we got involved the
activities and some of our members climbed the wall in there kilts and one of
our camp follows climb the wall in her pyjamas!
We were asked to participate in the "tug of war", and of course we lost to the
scouts, who had the 5 instructors from the climbing wall on their side.
The day ended as we all marched around the field behind the scout band,
and fun
was had by all!!!
